For Review: Architectural Standards and Construction Specifications

September 7th, 2010

The Brookstone Architectural Review Committee (ARC) and Board or Directors have worked to define and review a proposed modification to the existing Brookstone Architectural Standards and Architectural Review Form documents. These documents define the rules we abide by as homeowners and govern the process followed by the ARC when reviewing our applications for modification to our homes and property.

These are the draft versions of the revised documents:

The proposed documents are being shared in final draft form to give the community a chance to review and comment on the modified content. If you have comments or concerns, please feel free to contact the Board of Directors (brookstoneboard@brookstoneweb.org).

The proposed versions would replace the existing documents if approved by the Board of Directors. The Board intends to vote on these changes at the next board meeting (September 20, 2010).

Notice of Intent: Posting of ARC Application Results by Quarter

March 17th, 2010

The Architecture Review Committee (ARC) will soon be posting the results of Architectural Review Applications on the Brookstone web site.

These guidelines will be used to govern this process:

  • The posts will be by quarter, with the previous quarter’s ARC application results added to the web site.
  • Both approvals and denials to applications will be posted such that it is possible to see the outcome of all requests.
  • Homeowner’s names and specific addresses will not be posted, instead the block and street will be posted
(e.g. 300 Block of Brook Creek Drive, 500 Block of Lewey Drive).
  • Details of each application to remain generic in nature
(e.g. 3 trees to be removed, deck to be extended, room addition, and so on).

Note: This posting is not intended as the method for homeowner notification of the ARC application result, any homeowner who submits an ARC application will be notified directly, and homeowners still have the option of contacting RS Fincher to inquire on specific ARC applications for their planned projects.

This process of quarterly posting will not begin until the 2nd quarter of 2010, with the first posting to be the results of the 1st quarter of 2010.
