Storage Shelter Complete!

November 11th, 2009 by webmaster Leave a reply »
Some of you, maybe even many of you, have observed the ongoing storage shelter project at the pool. This project converted the old picnic shade structure into a storage shelter with two rooms. These rooms support storage of pool and swim team materials that used to sit along the fence inside the pool area.

We’re happy to report that the Town of Cary performed the final inspection and approved the work as complete on the 10th of November. Here you can see a picture of the storage shelter, as seen on a rainy day.
The storage shelter project has been a long road, from the volunteer work to frame the structure which began in 2007, to the formalization of the effort with a Town of Cary building permit. The project continued with contracted work to do the vinyl siding and door installation and another round of volunteer labor to close out the work required by the permit and Town of Cary inspections.

The board would like to thank fellow Brookstone Homeowner Mike Otero for his guidance and assistance. He provided leadership for the framing work in 2007, and after the siding and doors were installed, he helped complete the entry nook wood work and ensured that we had proper fit and function on the doors.
