Board Meeting
- The Board of Directors will hold a monthly meeting at 7PM on August 17, 2010, at the Brookstone Pool.
- At this Board meeting we plan to vote on the revised Brookstone Architectural Standards and Construction Specifications document. A final draft of this document will be shared on this site at least two weeks before the Board meeting where a vote is taken.
Change in Board Membership
- On July 19, Ralph Vought tendered his resignation from the Brookstone Board of Directors. This Board position has been marked open (see Board page), and the Board will be working to fill that position by the September meeting.
Open Board Position
- The Board would like to find a new member to complete the term vacated by Ralph Vought. If you are interested, please contact RS Fincher. Note that the term of the open position ends in April of 2011; the next annual meeting.
- The Board will accept candidates up until the September 20, 2010 Board Meeting, with a goal of selecting the replacement member of the Board at that time.

Hello neighbors! Once again, the Social Committee is hosting a fun Adults-only pool party (18+) this Saturday, July 24, from 8:30-10:30PM. This event is also known as the Brookstone Regatta as you can bring a boat to float!
Give the event a try; stop by, say hello, admire the boats, and maybe play a game of corn hole.
Boats
Let your imagination run free and start building your creation! Boats can be simple or complex, anything you can dream up should be fine. How about celebrating your favorite hobby, team or character?
The boat should be in the range of 4 inches to 2 feet in size and capable of holding a small candle (these will be supplied at the party). Materials such as wood, Styrofoam, 2-liter bottles can be used. Since we need to be safe and want to keep the pool in good shape, the following restrictions will apply:
- Nothing dangerous (sharp parts, glass or liquids other than water.)
- No small items or loose parts that could clog a filter or get lost on the bottom.
- No treated lumber or lumber than has an oil or other similar type of finish.
- If painted, it must be latex paint and have been given 3 days to dry.
- Any floatable that is deemed hazardous will have to remain in dry dock! When in doubt, ask by forwarding your question to the Brookstone Social Committee.
Party Details
- It’s BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage); you can also bring a snack or dessert, and a smile to share with your neighbors!
- The Social Committee will be providing basic supplies (paper products, utensils, cups, and ice) along with some edibles (meatballs, cheese/crackers).
- If you belong to the Brookstone Yahoo group you can use this link to let us know how many people to expect: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Brookstone_Cary/surveys?id=2309071
- If that link does not work for you RSVP by email to the Social Committee sponsor for this event: Chris McCarthy
Rain Plan: If the weather does not cooperate we will make a reschedule announcement before the event starts on both this Brookstone News site and the Brookstone Yahoo Group.
